Well, it’s happened – Donald Trump has finally killed satire. There is officially now nothing you can say to try to be funny at his expense, because people will just believe it.
Any attempt to poke fun at him will now be futile, because he keeps proving again and again that the truth is ALWAYS stranger than the lie.
Only last week he was comparing the size of his ‘nuclear button’ with Kim Jong-Un suggesting that his is bigger and more powerful.
You may have seen that this week a book was released by Michael Wolff that made the news because of alleged revelations regarding President Trump’s rise to power.
Well, popular Twitter account @pixelatedboat posted a fake excerpt from the book that suggested that the Leader of the Free World was less than impressed with the TV in his new gaff.
It said the POTUS was shocked to find that the TV did not have ‘The Gorilla Channel’ – a channel showing “nothing but Gorilla based content, 24 hours a day”.
They continued to say that to appease The Donald his team created a channel from existing gorilla documentaries and put up a makeshift transmission tower on the White House lawn, but they failed to impress him as he found it boring, and said the gorillas didn’t fight enough.
The fake quote suggested: .”On some days he’ll watch the gorilla channel for 17 hours straight.
“He kneels in front of the TV, with his face about four inches from the screen, and says encouraging things to the gorillas, like ‘the way you hit that other gorilla was good’. I think he thinks the gorillas can hear him.”
Needless to say, some people did not get the joke.
In fact, a frankly terrifying amount of people were drawn in. It wasn’t just the usual morons too – Security analyst Eric Garland tweeted: “Dammit guys, I got totally punked on the Gorilla Channel thing – but when you’ve already gotten to ‘eating KFC in bed’, I mean, we’re through the looking glass.”
please stop calling our customer service hotline to ask if we have The Gorilla Channel
– Netflix US (@netflix) January 6, 2018
Netflix also had to tweet: “Please stop calling our customer service hotline to ask if we have the gorilla channel”
This must surely mean we can expect a Netflix Original channel showing exclusively gorilla content to be announced by the end of the year – If we haven’t been incinerated in a ball of nuclear hell-fire by then, that is. Welcome to 2018 people.
