Top White Home aides are attempting to job calm in the West Wing, even as special counsel Robert Mueller draws closer to the Oval Office with his investigation into Russian disturbance in the 2016 governmental election and collusion with Donald Trump’s campaign.
, a source close to the administration concurs the president’s public efforts to minimize Mueller’s probe is at odds with reality.
“The president says, ‘This is all just an annoyance. I not did anything,'” a source informed the Post. “He is rather big-headed about it. This examination is a timeless Gambino-style roll-up. You have to expect this roll-up will reach everybody in this administration.”
Still, the narrative that Trump is not concentrated on Mueller’s examination stays prevalent. One White Home official told Axios Monday, “the only people focused on or taken in by this are the press.”
“The White Home personnel are working to perform the president’s agenda on behalf of the American individuals,” the source said. That belief
is shared by White Home attorney Ty Cobb who dismissed ideas that Mueller’s probe is rattling members of the Trump administration.
“Individuals who have actually been interviewed normally feel they were dealt with fairly by the special counsel, and adequately prepared to help them in understanding the pertinent product,” Cobb informed the Post. “They came back feeling relieved that it was over, however no one I understand of was shaken or scared.”
