Crap like this is why Leahy and others on the Senate Judiciary Committee are idiots for doing what they did during the Obama years.
During Trump’s time and during the W years, it was made clear Republicans didn’t give a shit what Democrats though of their nominees, they nominated them anyway.
Leahy and others had to play nice though and thus allowed dozens of seats to go unfilled because of that STUPID move, seats Republicans will now fill because they play to win, not to play nice.

When was the last time a sitting POTUS and his admin needed a lawyer against its own Justice department? When was the last time a congress in charge stay silent with so much evidence of collusion? Yup. Never. Dear America, you’ve been sold.

If they pirouetted into a WW themed version of Swan Lake I’d be even more in love with them….lol…

Howdy Mr. Bear! Hope you’re doing well.

        • billbear1961

My mood is extremely changeable and becomes BLACK as PITCH when anything reminds me of the ongoing COUP that Americans are NOT in the streets protesting to STOP.

I hope you’re well, dear Cuberly!

          • Cuberly

I hear ya, it’s disheartening that such a small group of Donnie’s concentrated hard-core supporters are enough to keep the GOP comfortable enough to just ride out the drama.

I’m continually amazed at how the GOP never ceases to plumb newer deeper depths.

I had a NYC friend back in the 70s who occasionally performed with them as a ballerina.

            They’ve been around that long.

Things sure have changed in one year.
Now it is the Democrats that are the patriots and it is the republicans that are commies. My, my how things have changed.

    • Blake J Butler

It’s all a matter of perception, you choose to believe what you want to believe instead of trying to see things for what they are instead.

Republicans see him as a Obamanesque figure “getting stuff done”

Meanwhile democrats see him as a demagogue with nothing to offer but lip service instead of results and answers, leadership and champion for the suffering instead of demonizing people for their shortcomings in life. Some of which are not their fault. But the fault of this man and people like him.

It’s a different America, it just depends on which side you are on to see it as good or evil.

      • Tomcat

If one of OUR politicians were doing the things he is doing we would want him out. I feel that completely.
Also I cannot believe his supporters actually believe he is doing any of the things he said he would do. The only way his followers could think he is a good man is if they are flawed to such a degree that their hatred has consumed them. I can be objective about Democrats and I expect republicans to do the same about their own.

        • Scott_Lumry

The only thing for which he can take credit for which conservatives are ejaculating over, is his placement of Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court.

  • clay

So, Trump finally found a lawyer who could pass muster for a background check?

    • djcoastermark

We’ll find out after they do one I guess.

    • coram nobis

Someone with the New York bar? Or the Trump Hotel bar?

    • billbear1961

Then, again, Kushner shouldn’t have security clearance–but still–STILL–does.

The GOP–traitors, all–is blocking efforts to strip Mr. Espionage of his clearance.

They are also, in the House, blocking efforts to strengthen sanctions against Russia.

Americans don’t mind that their federal government–2 of the 3 branches (and the coupists are working on the third)–is controlled by TRAITORS who have colluded with a hostile foreign power to subvert the 2016 election and install a one-party dictatorship.

They don’t mind that the GOP traitors are helping the tyrant usurper to hide his tax returns, helping him to cover up his monumental GRAFT and other crimes, his connections to Russian money and money-laundering.

The Democrats are not raising holy hell about it.

The people are not in the streets protesting, DEMANDING his tax returns–and SECURE elections.

It is a nation of COWARDS. The Republic is being strangled to death right in front of their very eyes, and they do NOTHING.

Indeed, they will let the GOP pass their murder bill and condemn tens of thousands–many of them poor and disabled CHILDREN–to premature death, yearly.

It is a nation with no pride, no self-respect, no sense of decency or HONOUR–a nation bowing down to an illegitimate “government” of THIEVES and TRAITORS.

    • Adam King

One who meets his ethical standards.

  • DaddyRay

  • a former federal prosecutor

guys like this are why so many people come to hate lawyers. how anyone could be a federal prosecutor who then goes and works for the very people he used to prosecute is beyond me. but then again, my father was an honest man and a fair judge who also founded the Legal Aid Clinic for the poor in the city where he went to law school, when he was a young man.

    • coram nobis

Well, yes, and the professional rules on conflict of interest include former clients and others involved in your cases.

OT: something odd happening with a refugee program via the Pacific island facility at Nauru. Looks like the US-Australian agreement is breaking down.

The resettlement of refugees from an Australia-run detention centre on the Pacific island of Nauru as part of a deal with the US has been thrown into doubt after American officials interviewing detainees left the facility abruptly.

The officials halted screening interviews and departed the island on Friday, two weeks short of their scheduled timetable and a day after Washington said the US had reached its annual refugee intake cap …

    • billbear1961

The shame–the ongoing DISGRACE–will not end until this illegitimate regime and its co-conspirators in Congress are sent PACKING!!

    • billbear1961

The way decent people in this country–who should KNOW better!!–COWER before these fascist scoundrels–these coupists–DISGUSTS me!!

    • Hue-Man

The deal was for only 1,250 refugees to be resettled in the U.S. Governing is hard but this should have been easy.

      • Donnie must still be mad at Turnbull.

I’ve lost track of which lawsuits filed against the Trump Administration Joe has reported on here on JMG.

How could he possibly keep up. It seems like there’s a new lawsuit filed every day.

I’ve read so many attempts, like that, to describe why a crime has been committed even when one walks away with nothing of value.

If I hold a gun to a bank teller’s head and say, “Give me the money” and I end up leaving the bank with either no money or with phony/fake money, I’ve still committed a crime.

      I’m guilty of attempted robbery.

  • The bottom line on Trump is this. His approval average is 39%. That is basically the same as the registered Republican and right-leaning independent base in the USA. That number has held steady for the past two months. As long as that stays flat, Trump is going nowhere. Russiagate is not making a dent in Trump’s approval ratings. Progressives need to focus on bread and butter benefits if they hope to get elected right now. (from 538 average of polls) https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/502a0c783fdc388f94d958c5895684e6d4d9883ea9c446babdf3cc6ea0626123.jpg

    • another_steve

Conventional wisdom seems to be that if Trump stays above 29 percent, the Republicans in Congress will remain largely silent re his crimes.

If he dips below 30 percent, many of them will freak out. Many will fear that it’ll be impossible for them to be reelected if they defend Trump, and will begin to publicly abandon him.

    • Michael R

So if we could get people out voting this wouldn’t be happening .
I imagine selling it as an important RESPONSIBILITY to keep democracy from being destroyed .

Don’t feel so bad, i watch porn of a guy that does verbal webcam shows that get me hot for some reason, jerking himself off and playing with a dildo, apparently he is a trump supporter, found his profile on FB and it is just ironic compared to the guy that strips, jerks himself off, and plays with a dildo for an audience that he knows is male.

I can’t post pics on here because they are not work friendly, but here is a link.

    • LesbianTippingHabits

So the Republicans waste their time investigating a twice-unsuccessful Presidential candidate and a former President. So what? Yawn.

  • Ninja0980

    • Treant

Personally, I’m shocked. What teenager doesn’t explicitly follow what their elders say, particularly when their elders are well-known for not having followed their own advice…and well-known for bragging about that fact?

      • Ninja0980

My parents let it be known it would be really great if we waited until marriage for sex.
But if we couldn’t, to be smart, always use condoms and never let anyone push you into sex, especially unprotected sex until you’re ready.
And if you aren’t and they keep pushing you, that person isn’t worth.
I’m not a walking STD field like my ex is because of my parents.
Such a damn shame so many others can’t say the same.

        • Treant

My parents figured that two virgins in a marriage bed were at least one virgin too many. But be careful, use at least one method of contraception* and two is better, and–like you said–if they push, they’re not worth it.

          * Fortunately the “contraception” part of this never came into play…

    • DaddyRay

has Murkowski been paid off? what about Portman?

      • Lazycrockett

Ohio Gov. Kasich doesn’t like the bill at all so hopefully he will persuade Portman. I think Murkowski has been paid off by the turtle. Or everyone is playing nice and waiting for the CBO to drop on Monday.
