San Juan Mayor Slams Trump On Live TELEVISION, Backfires When Audiences See What’s Right Behind Her

With the island of Puerto Rico still scrambling to recoup in the wake of facing two deadly tropical storms in the same number of weeks, the Mayor of San Juan seems more keen on making television appearances than helping her own people. Last week, she sat down with MSNBC to slam the aid efforts of President Donald Trump, who has been doing everything in his power to help the people of Puerto Rico. However, the mayor’s little stunt backfired spectacularly when viewers saw what was right behind her on their television screens.

Puerto Rico has been left completely destroyed by this year’s tropical storm season. With Hurricane Maria striking just two weeks after Hurricane Irma made landfall, the entire island has been left without power, creating a slew of other issues. Puerto Ricans don’t have clean drinking water and other necessities; many do not even have a way to contact loved ones who are worried about their safety.

The situation on the island is, indeed, dire. The only thing that could make it worse is a leftist politician with the habit of politicizing a tragedy. Enter Caren Yuliz Cruz Soto, the Mayor of San Juan.

While Governor Ricardo Rossello has been very thankful for U.S. aid efforts and complimentary of the overwhelming support President Donald Trump has offered Puerto Rico in the face of this crisis, the same cannot be said for Mayor Cruz Soto, a terrorist-sympathizing, Hillary Clinton supporter.

“First of all, we are very grateful for the administration,” Governor Rossello said on PBS last week, according to Allen B. West. “They have responded quickly. The president has been very attentive to the situation, personally calling me several times. FEMA and the FEMA director have been here in Puerto Rico twice. As a matter of fact, they were here with us today, making sure that all the resources in FEMA were working in conjunction with the central government,” he added.

“We have been working together. We have been getting results,” said Rossello, lest the media get away with pushing the narrative that Trump has left Puerto Rico high and dry. “The magnitude of this catastrophe is enormous. This is going to take a lot of help, a lot of collaboration. So, my call is to congressmen and congresswomen to take action quickly and conclusively with an aid package for Puerto Rico.”

Despite Rossello’s remarks about the help Trump has extended to Puerto Rico, on Friday, Mayor Cruz Soto embarked on an irreverent tirade, accusing FEMA and the president of offering her no help at all. “I’m mad as hell because my people’s lives are at stake,” Cruz Soto said on live television, according to The Gateway Pundit. “We are dying, and you [Trump] are killing us with inefficiency.”

Those are strong words, especially for someone standing directly in front of several pallets piled high with U.S. aid. Take a look:

President Donald Trump fired back via Twitter early on Saturday, accusing the mayor of “poor leadership.” He tweeted, “10,000 federal workers now on [the] island doing a good job.”

With Trump sending thousands of federal workers to Puerto Rico and pallets upon pallets of clean water and supplies, one is led to wonder what more, exactly, does Caren Yuliz Cruz Soto want; someone to physically unload the supplies for her and hand them out while she makes the rounds on various mainstream media channels, perhaps?

This is pathetic. People are suffering and Mayor Cruz Soto is spending her afternoons making television appearances to smear the man helping her people the most. What a hypocrite. Typical Democrat.
