WASHINGTON (AP)– Before he left workplace in January, President Barack Obama provided his follower accolades and guidance in a private letter that highlighted a few of his concerns as he passed the baton. In the letter,
published Sunday by CNN, Obama advised President Donald Trump to “construct more ladders of success for each child and family,” to “sustain the global order” and to safeguard “democratic organizations and traditions.”
It is popular for presidents to leave notes for their successors. Usually these missives do not come to light so rapidly. The handoff letters from President George W. Bush in 2009 and President Bill Clinton in 2001 were revealed previously this year. CNN reports it got the Obama letter from “somebody Trump revealed it to.”
